What is therapy?
Therapy is a supportive, collaborative process where you work through your thoughts, emotions and experiences in a comfortable, safe space. Our therapists use a variety of approaches and techniques to help you better understand your patterns, reactions and challenges. Whether you are seeking clarity, relief or personal growth, therapy is an important step towards better mental health.
Do you offer direct billing?
Yes, we offer direct billing to several programs to make things easier. We currently direct bill to:

Pacific Blue Cross, Manulife, Sun Life, Canada Life, and Green Shield Canada - ICBC (Insurance Corporation of BC)
- CVAP (Crime Victim Assistance Program)
- ASD (Autism Funding Program)
- DMI (Disability Management Institute)
If you are eligible for any of these programs, let us know and we’ll be happy to help you through the process.
Is therapy covered by my insurance plan?
Many extended health plans have coverage for Registered Clinical Counsellors. Since each plan varies, we recommend checking your individual policies for details before your first session so we can help you make the most of your benefits.
Where do sessions take place?
We offer both in-person counselling sessions as well as secure virtual sessions from anywhere in BC. You are free to choose which option is the most comfortable for you.

Yes, we offer a complimentary 15-minute phone conversation or virtual consultation to see if we might be a good fit for you. You can request a consultation by phone, form on our website or through our booking portal online.
What happens in the first session?
In your first session, we’ll start by getting to know you and establish your goals for therapy. From there, we will develop a personalized treatment plan which we will work closely together on moving forward.
Is everything we discuss confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy and trust is our top priority. Everything you share in your sessions is held in strict confidence, with a few exceptions related to safety and legal obligations. We will review these limitations in our first sessions so you are aware of what these cover.
How long is a session?
Typical therapy sessions are based on a 50-minute hour. If you feel like you need more time than this, we can work with you on session times that suit you better. Feel free to reach out to us to discuss this.
How long will I need therapy?
Everyone has a different journey and different needs. Some clients attend just a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support. In your initial appointment, we can discuss your goals and design a plan that feels comfortable for you.
How much does therapy cost?
Therapy sessions range from $170-$190 for a 50-minute hour. Specialized services such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) are at a higher rate.
Sliding scale options may be available. Please reach out to inquire.
How do I pay for my sessions?
Payments can be made by debit, Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Direct billing is also available for eligible programs (see above).
What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens and we understand that sometimes you can’t make your appointment time. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide us with at least 48 hours of notice to avoid a full session charge. This allows us time to offer another patient that timeslot.
Do I need a referral to see a therapist?
Referrals are not necessary in order to book an appointment. If you are seeking therapy for the first time, or returning after a hiatus, we are happy to book an appointment with you directly.
What types of therapy do you offer?
Our clinic offers a range of therapy modalities including CBT, EMDR, DBT, mindfulness-based options, among others. Your therapist will discuss the options available to you when they are establishing your treatment plan.
Can I request a specific therapist?
If there is a specific therapist you feel drawn to, or you’d like some guidance in who might suit you best, we’re happy to help you make that connection.
What are group therapy sessions?
Group therapy sessions include other people with similar experiences. These groups are led by expert counsellors and focus on shared understanding, emotional support and building new skills. If you would like support and to feel less alone in your journey, group therapy can be a powerful opportunity to connect with others and grow together.
Do you offer counselling for children & teens?
Yes, we offer counselling for children and teens, both in-person and online. Our therapists are trained to work with children of all ages to create a safe, welcoming space. Through talk therapy, play-based approaches or creative expression, we help support children and youth with managing emotions, building resilience and navigating challenges with confidence.
