Jennifer Zhou RN, CCC, MA, BSN, BA (Psychology)
Clinical Counsellor
Works with: Children, Adults, Families & Couples
Specialties: Cross-Cultural Identity, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Issues, Trauma-Informed Care
Jennifer’s approach to counselling is rooted in empathy, insight and a holistic view of well-being. Her background as a registered nurse has given her the experience to support people through moments of crisis, which is the same care that now guides her work as a therapist.
She works with clients across all life stages (ages 6 and up) and life challenges without judgment. As both an immigrant and a parent, Jennifer brings lived insight into issues like cultural transitions and complex intergenerational dynamics.
In session, Jennifer invites clients to look inward, uncovering stories, patterns and strategies that may have once protected them but no longer serve them. Her insight-oriented style allows clients to safely explore their inner world at their own pace.
Her work is based in psychodynamic theory, inner child work and attachment-based practice, with a strong foundation in trauma-informed care. She also integrates practical tools from CBT, DBT and ACT to support her clients.
Outside the office, Jennifer finds joy in nature, her family and cooking.
Fun Fact: Jennifer has a soft spot for 70s music and vintage fashion. You can find her knitting something fun in her downtime.
Jen speaks English and Mandarin.
